Diamonds in the Rough is a non-profit foundation created by Hyde Park, Inc. to support local charities and individuals in their quest to become treasured gems. Treasured gems are those who are challenged and in need of support to attain brilliance not otherwise available to them.
In 2000, Hyde Park Jewelers founded the Diamonds in the Rough Charity Dinner & Celebrity Golf Tournament, an annual event held benefiting Judi's House, Global Down Syndrome Foundation and YouthBiz. National and local celebrities, current and former professional athletes, and top business and community leaders gather for the annual Diamonds in the Rough Classic, held at the Cherry Creek Country Club in Denver. Participants enjoy a dinner the preceding evening, where an esteemed guest is honored with the Humanitarian of the Year Award. Past recipients of this award include Les Shapiro, Rich Goins, Mike Shanahan and Haven Moses, all of whom have made a commitment to give back to the Denver community and beyond.
