Hyde Park is proud to present the 10th Annual Diamonds in the Rough Charity Golf Classic on July 13, 2009 at the Cherry Creek Country Club.
Diamonds in the Rough is a non-profit foundation created by Hyde Park, Inc. The foundation was developed to support the efforts of individuals and local charities in their quest to reach their goals. Our purpose is to find organizations and individuals that are "diamonds in the rough" and assist them in becoming treasured gems.
This year's beneficiaries are YouthBiz, Inc. and The Kempe Center. YouthBiz is a non-profit organization that caters to inner-city youths by teaching them business operations in an after-school environment. YouthBiz not only encourages and mentors, it gives the children a place to go, other than the streets.
The Kempe Center for the Prevention and Treatment of Child Abuse and Neglect was founded in 1972 by Denver pediatrician C. Henry Kempe, who pioneered the identification and recognition of child abuse and neglect. Its recognized as the world leader in child abuse treatment programs and hosts nine innovative programs that treat abused children, train medical professionals and research new treatment methods to help and heal the most children.
The Golf Classic will be held at Cherry Creek Country Club. In addition to the golf tournament, there will be a kick-off dinner and auction prior; stay tuned for details as they become available.
National and local celebrities, current and former pro-athletes and top business and community leaders come together to participate in what has become known as one of the most exciting and generous tournaments in the area.
